Keep the Cheer Here!
Shop Early. Local. Safe.
We know these past six months have been like nothing you ever imagined and have made a lasting impact on your business and all the people who support it. Typically, this time of year, our community anticipates the excitement of the in-person Mayors Christmas Tree Lighting and Santa’s Workshop. Sadly, those may not go on like normal and other holiday events have been modified. When these events are cancelled, there is a negative impact on the local economy, in addition to the loss of the fun and excitement those experiences bring. The Chamber is launching a call to action for our community to support our local, independent businesses and KEEP THE CHEER HERE this holiday season.
The “KEEP THE CHEER HERE” initiative will be promoted from Thanksgiving through Christmas. We are encouraging businesses to participate by offering promotions, hot deals, etc. that the Chamber can feature throughout the holiday season. These opportunities will be shared in a variety of ways including email, social media and print. Make sure to follow the Chamber Facebook page for daily promotions. The advantages of supporting our local, independent businesses are obvious, but here are few other good points to keep in mind:
• When dollars are spent with local businesses, that money strengthens those organizations and helps stabilize the jobs they have created.
• Those businesses and their employees, in turn, are better able to support local charities with their time and money.
• Spending with independent, local businesses allows business owners and their employees to provide for their families – dance classes, karate lessons, little leagues, back-to-school shopping and groceries to name a few. All of which often happen here in town.
Most people can understand and appreciate these positive impacts, but far too often the convenience of “one-click” shopping for something we could find down the street wins out. Let’s all do our part to “KEEP THE CHEER HERE” this holiday season and think local before we make that next purchase!
Check out any of the businesses below to learn more about them and see how you can support local this holiday season.
